TEA TREE OIL

In my previous post I mentioned Tee tree Oil as one of the major factors of why I recommend CLEAR SKIN MAX as my favourite acne treatment product. Most of you guys may have heard something or the other about Tee Tree Oil. In this post I hope to share with you some more information about this amazing oil that you may not have already known.

Tee Tree Oil has a very long history of traditional use. It comes from Australia and the aboriginal people of Australia has been using this herb for skin infection, skin cuts and burns. They would crush the leaves and apply them to the area that's affected.

Tee Tree Oil has consituents called terpenoids. The terpenoids have been found to have antiseptic and anti fungal activity. The compound terpinen-4-ol is the most abundant and is thought to be responsible for most of tea tree oil's antimicrobial activity.

Tee Tree Oil is use commonly for:

1. Acne
2. Athlete's Foot
3. Head Lice
4. Cuts
5. Infections
6. Burns

ACNE
A blind randomised test by the Department of Dermatology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Australia compared the effectiveness and tolerance of 5% tea tree oil gel with 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion in 124 people with mild to moderate acne. People in both groups had a significant reduction in inflamed and non-inflamed acne lesions (open and closed comedones) over the three month period with little to no side effects .
